WhatsApp is now available on laptops and desktops with the aid of WhatsApp Web that allows users to connect to the app via their mobile phones. However, as per the report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp may soon include additional devices on its existing list. These will be partners with Android devices, such as smartphones or tablet.
According to the report, this new section was revealed in WhatsApp Beta for Android version 18.104.22.168 and is titled “Register Device as Companion”. This means that if you want to access your WhatsApp via a different device, you will need to add it to the list of companion devices. The WhatsApp’s “multi device 2.0” hinted the possibility of this in the past, but at the time, it was thought it would probably be Android tablet computers or Chromebooks If the most recent information is to be believed, WhatsApp may also allow smartphones to be added to the list.
According to the report in WhatsApp Beta 22.214.171.124, “the “Register Device as Companion” appears when you attempt to launch WhatsApp on a second mobile device. In this scenario you are also able to decide to connect to your WhatsApp account to access it on a different device.”
You may need to point your primary device at the secondary device’s display to allow them to be linked using the QR Code. Once your WhatsApp account is linked to the second device and you’ll be able utilize WhatsApp on a different phone. The exact date of the launch of this feature is not yet known.
