Independence Day 2022: Hoist Flags, Organize MyGoz Quiz, UGC Issues Guidelines for Colleges

 

The Defense Ministry has constituted Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Independence Day celebrations in all schools. In a letter to all chiefs and directors of institutions of higher education the University Grants Commission ,UGC) has announced in a formal announcement that flat host will be held at 9 am in all institutions.
The Ministry of Defense, Government of India has created the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Independence Day celebrations. The SOP is attached as Annexure-I. The celebrations are taking place. It is part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” across the nation,” read the notice.

SOP’s(notice) for Independence Day Celebrations 2022:
The MoD, in its first directive, said that it is mandatory for all educational institutions to start celebrating the Independence Day celebrations/unfurling of the national flag after 9 am. The following instruction recommends conducting the flag-raising ceremony in a physical or virtual format , depending on the COVID-19 scenario. It was suggested by the Ministry of Defense encouraged all students, teachers, and staff, as also parents/guardians to be part of the program.

“As the country is celebrating the ‘Azadi-Ka-Amrit Mahotsav every school is being requested to design an artistic project that honors this 75th year anniversary Independence Day and prominent freedom fighters in their communities. The SOP incorporates “Waste to the Best”. Certain waste materials must be part of the project. It should emphasize the idea in “Waste to Wealth”.
Furthermore to this, it is reported that the Defense Ministry has also asked colleges and universities to hold MyGov Quiz. Each year, on Independence Day, the Ministry of Defense along in conjunction with MyGov holds an online quiz contest on a particular subject. Similar to this contest should be held this year as well.

Somewhat surprisingly, the ones who finish in the top ten spots of the quiz will receive cash prizes. The winner of the first prize will receive an amount of Rs. 25,000. The 2nd prize winner will be awarded the sum of Rs 15,000. While the person who wins the 3rd prize is going to receive $10,000. The remaining contestants will also be awarded an additional prize of Rs 5000. The quiz is open to all students who are in the class of VI or above.
In the meantime, all schools are being asked to urge students to fly the flag of our nation on their rooftops with the slogan “Har Ghar Tiranga” in the honor of our freedom fighters.
